Boomerang Bags

You may have also noticed the free Boomerang bags around town at all 4 T&C’s, Joe’s Parkway, L and F Market, Sack’s Thrift, the public library, and the Food Bank. It is an international effort that began in Australia in 2013, and in 2017, we became one of 1,100 Boomerang Bag communities worldwide. MSU student volunteers help make the free to borrow and return t-shirt bags every first Saturday of the month at MSU Service Saturday events. We have distributed several thousand free cloth bags so far.

Bring The Bins

The Valley of the Flowers Project, Bogert Farmers Market, and Bozeman Parks Dept. have teamed up to bring Bozeman's first recycling bins to our city parks. 6 parks are planned, with installation at 2 or more parks during the summer of 2017.

Urban Food Forest Harvest

Participants will earn community service hours harvesting and processing the abundance of food growing throughout our community. Jam, jelly, juice, and dried fruits will be donated to the landowners, food banks, schools, and sold to create funding.

BoZERO

In partnership with the Bozeman Farmer’s Market, Gone Green, EcoMontana, and Happy Trash Can, VoFP is asking local businesses to show support for a Bozeman Zero Waste Initiative. Businesses pledge to reduce their waste through composting, recycling, and other means, in addition to conducting waste audits and receiving waste-reduction counseling.

Zero Waste Grocery Store

A store with no packaged foods might sound strange, but it is better for you and the planet! Grants, investors, and employee owners will help make this the best store in Bozeman, with a shipping container "freight farm" parked outside, supplying fresh produce!
